Excerpts from poems by Shromona
Fall To Rise
Optimists in search of rainbows
Engulfed they are by clouds instead.
Mistakes make us, not we them,
Remain not slaves to mere ambitions,
Close those eyes in order to see,
Let uncertainty guide those fumbled steps,
For one who does not fall, shall never rise.
Baby Blooms
In vain the child reaches forth,
Amid those colours she paints her dream,
Unbeknownst to those gentle hands,
Painted waters dissolve in steam.
The Miracle of You (Dedicated to Ma)
In you I see
A shadow of me,
Am I shadow too . . .
Of your infinite grace,
Your smiling face,
With beauty pure and true,
Your presence has ensured mine,
Rejoice for this day divine,
Celebrates my miracle . . . you!
New Day Awaits
Ruin not your today
For an unknown tomorrow,
Sacrifice no joy,
For an unborn sorrow.
Ray of Hope
In hopes that paradise be obtained,
So many of our dreams lay lost or stained,
Yet every step brings closer our destination,
The crests and troughs are our creation.
Reality of Dreams
Confuse not dreams with what is fact,
They often lead astray,
Look back at what awaits beside,
Before you lose the way.
Changing Seasons
Thawing snow gives way to grass,
Seasons like bygone moments pass,
Seldom do we stop and ponder,
Like autumn leaves, our memories squander.
Lost they will be to sands of time,
Shards of memoirs, deficient in rhyme,
Delicate threads of yesterday,
Seize them lest they soar away.
In unknown futures they slowly perish,
Those moments we so dearly cherish,
As dreams of weary hearts diminish,
Barren lands, let spring replenish.
Darkness To Light
Perhaps someday they shall live,
For life itself, and not for death,
Let that day find them content,
The day they die to live,
Not live to die,
Till that day dawns upon them,
Let darkness be their friend.
Deer in Darkness
The darkest hour comes before,
The heart has courage left no more,
From nothingness we all shall rise,
To infinite, blissful paradise.
Dreamy Fears
Hope clung to me as would
The leaf that defies the call of autumn,
Now beckoned my path to freedom,
To the future the past lent a hand.
For All Those Days
Dreams now lie beyond our reach,
A single lesson did love teach,
Hold not tight that which is free,
For it shall henceforth cease to be.
Life Thus Seems . . .
Life blooms into vibrant blossoms,
Giving birth to spirited dreams,
Glassy orbs stare into crystal snow,
The frost melts to a balmy glow,
One that penetrates the very being.
Days appear transformed
To sparkling smiles from a haze of tears,
Hope rises within like a bird taking flight,
Life seems to have dawned from twilight,
Having been touched by love.
Next Future
In the dawn of a future yet to come,
One hopes for light when there is none,
Illuminated darkness in reality,
Like a footprint in stone; a trace lacking entity.
The future ahead brings hopes unseen,
Things that could have, but had not been,
Tomorrow for I live today,
May it bring happiness, in many a way.
The Unjust World
Punish these dreams for being so free,
Unyielding to rules of certainty,
Punish these memories for holding on,
When their creators have long since gone,
Punish the tears for flooding these eyes,
Prices we pay for sacrifice,
Punish these souls for wanting one another,
Torn apart for being together.
Silent Sounds
Another day comes to a close,
A day like many others,
Yet, a thought persists deep inside,
A ripple in stagnant water.
Unearthly hour for earthly creatures,
To ponder upon their existence,
Wondering how and why we struggle,
Searching answers for questions unknown.
Unseen Journey
Those vocal eyes sensed solitude,
Parted lips curled into smiles,
Traces of gestures and shared glimpses,
Moments now punctuated by miles.
Yet now that the gentle breeze
Has rustled past me I dare say,
I will be watching the glistening roads,
For glimpses of another such day.
Mundane Fears
The moments that we ought spent now,
Are plagued with moments yet to come,
Anguished moments seem some to many,
Yet to others seem all but some.
One day this dance shall meet its end,
Distress will touch the soul no more,
By then the sunrise will have set,
Drowned present from a future shore.
